The special Golden Marco Aurelio Award will be handed out to the Scottish actor Sean Connery on Thursday October the 12th at Rome´s Teatro dell´Opera. The awarding will take place before the music concert that will open the first edition of the RomeFilmFest. The set list of the concert, featuring the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini directed by Riccardo Muti, will be based on the renowned composer Nino Rota´s scores for films, such as The Godfather, The Road or The Leopard. Before the concert, Sean Connery will receive the “Festa del Cinema Acting Award 2006”, created in collaboration with IMAIE, the Italian Institute that protects Performing Artist´s rights, as part of the Actor´s Craft section.
Unlike the other three awards, which are silver-colored, the Acting Award is made of gold-plated silver, but, just like the others, it´s been created by the Bulgari designers and reproduce the silhouette of emperor Marcus Aurelius on his horse, symbol of the RomeFilmFest.
