EXTRA. “Online Short Film” Competition, deadline for submitting works postponed

Great success for the “Online Short Film” Competition, for shorts of a maximum length of 5 minutes, produced with any kind of technology and on any format, promoted by the RomeFilmFest, Morellato Gioielli da vivere and MySpace (www.myspace.com). In fact, around 300 shorts have already been submitted and we have received more than 15,000 registrations.

In order to ensure the widest participation possible, the deadline for submitting the short films has been postponed until September 12 – ten more days. After that, the competition newsroom – under the supervision of Extra’s artistic director Mario Sesti – will choose the best 75 entries (15 for each category: best narrative short, best music video, best short film made with a cell phone, best animated short and best mush up).

From September 20 to October 10, this selection will be published on the MySpace website (with almost 200 million users around the world) and the works will be open to public voting.

Winners will be given an exclusive item as a prize made expressly for the occasion by the competition’s official partner, Morellato Gioielli da vivere.

In addition, a jury of experts will assign a Special Prize to one of the finalists. The award ceremony will be held during the RomeFilmFest, where the winners will have the opportunity to parade down the red carpet alongside major performers and directors.
