Tim Burton in Rome. “Viaggio nel cinema americano” is back

After the popular public encounters with great film directors and actors in the EXTRA section of the RomeFilmFest, the showcase ‘Viaggio nel cinema americano’ [‘A journey through American cinema’] is back.  Overseen by Antonio Monda and Mario Sesti, the event is presented by the RomeFilmFest, Studio Universal (SKY) and the Fondazione Cinema per Roma..

Every month there will be an appointment with a major personality from American cinema, starting with a truly exceptional event, held in collaboration with WarnerBros: an encounter with one of the most brilliant and unique creators of cinema, Tim Burton.

On Wednesday 23 January at 21.00, just prior to the release of his new eagerly-awaited film, Sweeney Todd, the director of Edward Scissorhands, Mars Attacks!, Ed Wood and Nightmare Before Christmas, will meet the public in the Sala Sinopoli at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. Some of the best sequences from his films will be shown during the encounter, including his new Golden Globe winning work.

Tickets (priced 4 euros) are on sale at the ticket office in the Auditorium Parco della Musica, open from 11.00 to 20.00.

In true RomeFilmFest tradition, audience members will be able to listen to great directors and actors talking about themselves and their work, savouring the singular blend of biography and fiction that distinguishes those who work in the cinema. Furthermore there is room for the public to the address the platform directly with questions, curiosities and reflections.
