The audience is the star of the third edition of the International Rome Film Festival: the festivalgoers themselves will assign the Golden Marc’Aurelio to the best film, voting on the films in competition in the Official Selection.
The voting procedure that the Film Festival has designed is simple and direct: upon entering the theatre, each ticket holder will receive a voting card on which to rate his or her level of satisfaction with the film being screened. Films can be rated from 1 to 5 (1 if poor, 5 if excellent) by scratching the corresponding number on the card. Conveniently located at the theatre exits, in the Auditorium lobbies and at its main Ticket Office, as well as in the Cinema Village, the audience will find easy-to-use optical barcode scanners that will record their votes immediately after the screening and until noon on the following day.
The results of the audience vote will be announced during the official awards ceremony that will take place on October 31st at 6:30pm in the Sala Sinopoli at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, and the prize of 75,000 euros assigned by BNL – BNP Paribas Group will be handed out to the winner.
During the same ceremony on the evening of the 31st, the Festival’s other official awards will be handed out: the Golden Marc’Aurelio Critics’ Award for Best Film, the two Silver Marc’Aurelio Critics’ Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress, the Golden Marc’Aurelio Acting Award bestowed on Gina Lollobrigida, and the two prizes for Best Film in the Alice nella città section (assigned by two juries, Under 12 and Over 12, made up of children and young adults).
