IMAGHIA Prize for “Films That Are Good For You”

IMAGHIA Prize for “Films That Are Good For You”

Now in its second edition, the IMAGHIA Prize is awarded during the Rome International Film Festival to ‘films that are good for you.’ The jury, composed of actors and psychologists, will bestow the award on the films that ‘most profoundly influence the psyche, both individual and collective.’

This year, jury members include actors Neri Marcoré and Amanda Sandrelli; psychology professor Mario Bertini; Chiara Tozzi (psychoanalyst and screenwriter, as well as President of IMAGHIA), and Marta Tibaldi (psychoanalyst, training analyst, and Vice President of IMAGHIA).  ‘For the duration of the festival, the diversity of this jury’ – the association explains in a press release – ‘is intended to lay the foundation for a ‘creative confrontation’ over the content, form, and objectives of the films up for the prize. It’s a sort of ‘work in progress’ that allows psychologists, actors, directors, producers, screenwriters, etc. to face off, clash if necessary, debate, and reflect on the material which the International Rome Film Festival has to offer us.’

In addition to the official prize going to the director of the winning film, which will be handed out during the awards ceremony, IMAGHIA also offers the film’s producers a consultation with the Association on its next film.
