The awards ceremony for the “Vanity Fair International Award for Cinematic Excellence” will precede the 3D screening; attending will be Peter Ramsey, the director of the film, Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of Dreamworks Animation, and executive producer Guillermo del Toro. Also out of competition, Salacinema Lotto is preparing to greet the Twilightfans at 8:30 pm. Featured, in fact, is the preview of the last chapter of the saga, Breaking Dawn – Part 2.For all the fans, at 3:00 pm, the sidebar Alice nella città will present the Twilight Eventat Casa Alice: it will be open to the public to view videos and film clips and participate in quiz games dedicated to the famous vampire series.
At 4:45 pm, the Festival competition will present Mai Morireby Mexican director Enrique Rivero.
At 10:00 pm, in Sala Sinopoli, the CinemaXXI selection will feature, in competition, Photo by Carlos Saboga; at 7:30 pm, in Sala Petrassi, Once I Entered a Garden (Nichnasti pa’am lagan)by Avi Mograbi. At 9:00 pm, in Teatro Studio, the fourth session of short films from the CinemaXXI Breve section: scheduled are five short 3D films: (Beato chi riceve la grazia by Margherita Giusti, Pletora by Zapruder, Plant, Waves and All sides of the road by OpenEndedGroup), followed by The Mother, the Son and the Architect (La madre, il figlio e l’architetto) by Petra Noordkamp and Waterscope Transitions by Carsten Aschmann.
At 5:00 pm in Sala Petrassi, Prospettive Italia presents Il Leone d’Orvieto, a documentary in competition about Giancarlo Parretti’s takeover of Metro Goldwyn Mayer; in the same theatre at 9:30 pm, Wavesby Corrado Sassi, preceded by the screening of the short film Frammenti by Franco Piavoli; The Unusual Suspect – Acrobatic Life of Tiberio Murgia (L’insolito ignoto. Vita acrobatica di Tiberio Murgia) by Sergio Naitza, a documentary out of competition about the life story of the famous Italian character actor, will be screened at 3:00 pm in Teatro Studio. The programme at the MAXXI will feature, at 2:30 pm, Performance-Film brevifor the “Cinema Espanso” Retrospective; at 5:00 pm, two medium-length films will be screened for CinemaXXI: Narmadaby Manon Ott and Grégory Cohen and Tagalog by Gym Lumbera. The programme of Alice nella città presents the 3D film Wreck-It Ralph by Rich Moore, the star of the animated red carpet at 10:30 am: at 11:00 am, the latest Disney film, out of competition, will be screened in Sala Sinopoli. Casa Alice, at 11:00 am, will feature the screening of Blackbird, by Canadian director Jason Buxton; in the afternoon, there will be a screening of film clips from the new series Beautiful Creatures by Richard Lagravenese: at 6:30 pm, the public can meet with actor Thomas Mann and the authors of the books that inspired the series, Margareth Stohl and Kami Garcia. The day will end at 11:00 pm with the Twilight Marathon.
