The RomeFilmFest and Cult are back together again. For its 2007 edition, the Fest has renewed its partnership with the cultural entertainment TV service supplied by Fox International Channels Italy. Broadcast to SKY subscribers (channel 142) Cult offers viewers independent cinema, documentaries and author-led series.
Cult will offer a prize of 20,000 euros to the Best Documentary shown in any of the RomeFilmFest’s various sections.
This award has already gained considerable recognition in both Italian and European markets, generating extensive media coverage on the documentary genre. This appreciation was further reiterated by the UK producers and French distributor of last year’s Cult Prize winning film, Deep Water.
In fact Fandango has bought the Italian rights for the British film by Louise Osmond and Jerry Rothwell, an original portrait of Donald Crowhurst, a free-thinking inventor who decides to enter the round-the-world yacht race. Deep Water will be broadcast on the Cult satellite TV channel in the days prior to the 2nd RomeFilmFest, being held from October 18 to 27, 2007.
The deadline for entries to the 2007 competition, open to documentaries with a minimum duration of 60 minutes, has been set for August 3, 2007.
For specific information on the entry procedure, see the regulations.
