Marcello Mastroianni is the protagonist of the official image of the nineteenth Rome Film Fest, which will take place from October 16th to 27th 2024 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone.
The photograph is a tribute to the great actor on the centennial of his birth. Mastroianni is portrayed on the set of Federico Fellini’s 8 ½ in one of his most iconic roles, that of Guido Anselmi, a director stuck in a creative impasse.
The photo, taken by Gideon Bachmann, immortalises Mastroianni wearing the famous black hat, on his face a pair of heavily-framed eyeglasses, in his hand the whip and the megaphone: a memorable character, brilliantly portrayed, in a film that won two Oscars®, an inevitable touchstone for any work about the hard work and magic of cinema.
