Fondazione Cinema per Roma presents the September programme for Casa del Cinema: the shows will return to the three indoor theatres (Cinecittà, Fellini and Volonté) following the remarkable success of the summer arena decreed by the audiences of the Capital city. During the month of August, in fact, the Ettore Scola outdoor Theatre was largely sold out, with an average of over three hundred spectators every evening.
From September 1st to 30th, Casa del Cinema will present two film series for a total of twenty titles: “Un giorno da Leone” (1 – 11 September) will present a series of films that won the Golden Lion, while “Carta Bianca” to Martin Scorsese (18 – 25 September) will feature a selection of works chosen directly by the great filmmaker. The September programme will also host two tributes for a total of four events: the first (12 – 14 September) will be dedicated to Jane Birkin, who passed away in July, the second (26 September) will focus on Anna Magnani, fifty years after her death. Finally, Casa del Cinema will be the venue for a new event in collaboration with Galleria Borghese, a programme of two silent films in both of which the city of Rome is a prime protagonist.
