Thursday, January 27th, at 6.30pm Casa del Cinema in Rome will host the screening of Charlotte by Tahir Rana and Éric Warin.

The animated film, premiered at the latest edition of the Rome Film Fest, will be presented by Fondazione Cinema per Roma and Casa del Cinema in the frame of “Memory generates Future”, a series of events carried out by Roma Capitale between January 23rd and January 7th on the occasion of the Holocaust Memorial Day.

Charlotte brings on the big screen the true story of Charlotte Salomon, a young German-Jewish painter who grows up in Berlin on the eve of World War II and is killed in Auschwitz at only twenty-six years of age. Considered by many as the author of the first graphic novel in history, the artist has produced an extensive body of work in which painting, comics, cinema and theater blend, creating a moving and dramatic effect.
