Thursday 16 June will see the start of the tenth edition of Cinema al MAXXI, the event that brings the seventh art to one of the most important venues dedicated to contemporary arts. The programme of Cinema al MAXXI is curated by Mario Sesti.
The first part of the series (ending Thursday July 28th) will feature, in the Piazza of the MAXXI, the films from Extra Explore, a selection of the most surprising and innovative Italian cinema with the most original emerging auteurs who have come to light at Cannes, Venice, Taormina.
The programme will be completed by an exclusive awards ceremony for the Video Essay Film Festival, dedicated to the new forms of film criticism.
Between November and December, the MAXXI Auditorium will host Extra Doc Festival, the competition for the finest expressions of documentary film in Italy, now in its fifth edition.
