“Detroit” by Kathryn Bigelow to screen at the 12th edition of the Rome Film Fest

Kathryn Bigelow‘s long awaited new film, Detroit, will be presented during the twelfth edition of the Rome Film Fest (October 26 – November 5, 2017). This was recently announced by artistic director Antonio Monda, in agreement with the president of the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, Piera Detassis.
The director of Point Break and Strange Days, the first and only woman to get the Best Director Oscar with The Hurt Locker, comes back five years after the release of Zero Dark Thirty to sign a work of extraordinary intensity: Detroit recalls one of the most tragic and bloody episodes in US history, the riot that crossed the streets of the American metropolis precisely fifty years ago, between 23 and 27 July, 1967.
The film, written by Oscar winner Mark Boal at his third collaboration with Bigelow, stars, among others, John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Will Poulter (The Revenant), Jacob Latimore (Collateral Beauty) , Jack Reynor (Transformer 4) and Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones).
