On September 28th 1924, one of the greatest actors in the history of the seventh art, Marcello Mastroianni, was born. The nineteenth Rome Film Fest, to be held from October 16th to 27th, will be dedicated to the award-winning actor, a three-time Oscar® nominee, winner of two Golden Globes, and many awards for his performances at all the major international film festivals.
To celebrate Mastroianni’s career, the Rome Film Fest will organise an extensive series of initiatives and events. They include an ample retrospective of films, some recently restored, in which he worked with directors such as Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Ettore Scolaand Pietro Germi; documentaries about the life and works of the great actor; exhibitions and shows to be presented at both the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and Casa del Cinema; and an encounter with actress Chiara Mastroianni – the daughter of the actor and Catherine Deneuve – to whom the Fest will dedicate a special tribute. Finally, Marcello Mastroianni will be the protagonist of the official image of the nineteenth edition.
