Filmmaker Oliver Stone, who won two Oscars® as Best Director for Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July, and one for Best Adapted Screenplay for Midnight Express,will meet the public during the eleventh Rome Film Fest, to be held from October 13th to 23rd under the artistic direction of Antonio Monda, produced by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma chaired by Piera Detassis.
During this event, the auteur from New York, who has made the representation of power and an often scathing critique of American society the essence of his films, will talk about American politics on the eve of the presidential elections. The encounter will be moderated by Antonio Monda.
The event starring the director of Wall Street, JFK, Natural Born Killers, Every Bloody Sunday, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, is just one in an ample roster of “Close Encounters“: others have been announced with Oscar®-winning actors Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, with Pulitzer Prize-winner David Mamet, with author Don DeLillo and with architect Daniel Libeskind.
The eleventh Rome Film Fest will also dedicate a tribute to Michael Cimino, the American director, screenwriter and film producer who recently passed away on July 2nd.
