10 November: in Competition “Ali ha gli occhi azzurri” and “Main dans la main”. CinemaXXI features the masterclass by Paul Verhoeven

Two films, one of which is Italian, will be screened in competition on the second day of the Festival: Ali ha gli occhi azzurri by Claudio Giovannesi and the French film Main dans la main by Valérie Donzelli.

At 7:30 pm the Out of Competition gala, with the film Mental by P.J.Hogan.

Carlo! by Gianfranco Giagni and Fabio Ferzetti will inaugurate the selection of Prospettive Italia in the Sala Petrassi, out of competition: on the red carpet, along with the directors of the documentary, will be Carlo Verdone, to whom the documentary is dedicated.

In the same section, in the evening slot, the competition will be opened by La Scoperta dell’Alba by Susanna Nicchiarelli. In addition to the film, with a cast that features Sergio Rubini and Margherita Buy among others, the screening will also include Esca Viva, a short film by Nicchiarelli, and Il turno di notte lo fanno le stelle by Edoardo Ponti. At 2:30 pm, out of competition, Benur-Tre comiche disperazioni by Massimo Andrei: for this film, which will be screened in Sala Sinopoli, an animated red carpet has been planned.

At 4:30 pm in the Sala Petrassi, Steekspel by Paul Verhoeven , a “participated film” in collaboration with web users. To be followed by a meeting between the director of RobocopTotal RecallBasic Instinct and the public in the first of the masterclasses of CinemaXXI. The programme then continues at the MAXXI, where the first screening of the many short films in the selection will begin with CinemaXXI Breve 1, followed at 9:15 pm by CinemaXXI Breve 2 this time at the Teatro Studio.

The Sala Auditorium MAXXI will also host the Retrospective “Cinema Espanso”: the programme will feature Montaggio d’autore, E di Shaul e dei sicari sulla via di Damasco by Gianni Toti, La parte bassa  by Claudio Caligari and Moltodipiù by Mario Lenzi. Proibito by Mario Monicelli will be presented in the Salacinema Lotto.

The special event scheduled for 5:30 pm is the short film by Antonello Sarno: Jet Set – Quando l’aeroporto sembrava Via Veneto. The film will be screened twice, at 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, in the Teatro Studio.

A rich programme will be presented by the sidebar Alice nella città: in the morning the red carpet for Il Piccolo Principe 3D by Pierre Alain Chartier; at Casa Alice, Babygirlby MacDara Vallely will be presented in Competition. In the afternoon. Le sac de farine by Kadija Leclere and at 7:30 pm, the early evening event Freaks – La mostruosità dei normali: all the stars of the series will be present.
