The competition of the seventh edition of the Festival presents Il volto di un’altra, the latest film by Pappi Corsicato, to be screened at 5 pm in the Sala Sinopoli. Walking the red carpet of the Auditorium in the afternoon will be Alessandro Preziosi, Laura Chiatti, Iaia Forte and Lino Guanciale. At 10 pm, the programme will continue with Marfa Girl by Larry Clark.

The early evening in Sala Sinopoli will feature, at 7:30 pm, Le guetteur (The Sniper) by Michele Placido with actors Luca Argentero and Violante Placido.

CinemaXXI will present, in the selection of the competition, Suspension of Disbelief  by Mike Figgis; out of competition Goltzius and the Pelican Company by Peter Greenaway, the director of Prospero’s Books and the trilogy Tulse Luper.

Prospettive Italia presents a series of screenings beginning at 4:30 pm in the Sala Petrassi with Pezzi by Luca Ferrari, and continues at 9:30 pm in the same venue with ItalianMovies by Matteo Pellegrini, preceded by the short film Il Cinema lo faccio io by Alessandro Valori.

The Sala Sinopoli at the Auditorium will be the venue for the screening, at 2:30 pm,  of L’Invasioneby Yves Allegret for the Retrospective “Cinema Espanso”.

The MAXXI will feature a rich programme of medium and short films: at 7:45 pm, Himorogi by Marina and Alessio Pierro, followed by Il fiume, a ritroso by MauroSantini. In the afternoon, at 5:30 pm, the feature-length film Jungle Love by Filipino director Sherad Anthony Sanchez, in competition in the CinemaXXI selection, preceded by the short film by Ico Costa, Quatro horas descalzo.

The programme at the Cinema Barberini will present, in Sala 1 at 4 pm, Steekspel by Paul Verhoeven, followed by his documentary Paul’s Experience. At 6 pm, Tasher Desh (Land of Cards) by Q, at 8:30 pm Main dans la main and at 10:30 pm the film by Feng Xiaogang, Back to 1942.  In Sala 2, a 9 am matinée with El ojo del tiburon by Alejo Hoijman and at 11:30 am, Esca viva and La scoperta dell’alba, both by Susanna Nicchiarelli.

The sidebar Alice nella città will present in competition Comme un lion by French director Samuel Collaredey, in Salacinema Lotto at 11 am. Also in the morning, a free event at Casa Alice for the “Cinema and History project” with the screening of L’onorevole Angelina by Luigi Zampa.
