The show “Il cinema va di moda” (Cinema goes fashion), produced by the RomeFilmFest in collaboration with Alta Roma, is created by Stefano Dominella under the artistic guidance of Gabriella Pescucci, the Academy award-winning for costume designer for The Age of Innocence, and the direction of Piero Maccarinelli; set and visual design by Roberto Malfatto.
RomeFilmFest has called a casting for the upcoming September 15th and 16th in order to pick up 200 aspiring actors who will play the characters from movies by Fellini, Antonioni, Visconti, Rossellini, Pasolini and Gabriele Muccino’s The Last Kiss. The 200 will take part in the show to be held on October 19th.
Images from such unforgettable movies like Rome, Open City, The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, Once upon a time in America, The night, A Lady Without Camelias, Livia and Roma will be projected on a big screen while the 200 models bring back the feeling of those movies in a double-bill show. Special stars are the costumes, the clothes and the fur coats conceived expressly for the show by the grand fashion masters, like Danilo Donati, Gabriella Pescucci, Maurizio Millenotti, Piero Tosi, Git Magrini, relying on the creativity of all-time great tailors like Farani, Tirelli and Nori. From historic clothes (The Profession of Arms, Livia) to contemporary ones, revisited for the occasion (The Conformist, The Family, The Night) by great masters, stylists and costume artisans, such as Fendi or Gattinoni. Besides, “Il cinema va di moda” will host a section dedicated to the young students from the Accademia di Costume e Moda, the Istituto Europeo di Design and the Accademia Koefia. Their creations will be inspired by Roberto Benigni’s Pinocchio. Armando Trovajoli will provide the soundtrack, with music from the quoted movies and compositions like the everlasting “Roma nun fà la stupida stasera”.
A special committee composed of the artistic board of “Il Cinema va di moda” and show business experts will award the 6 best performers, who will receive a last generation laptop offered by HP and Intel, main sponsors of the show. General coordination Barbara Manto, Executive production Cinema – Festa Internazionale di Roma, Rmprogetti and Alta Roma. Hairdressing Sergio Valente in collaboration with L’Oreal Professional.
