IL MIO CORPO by Michele Pennetta

Oscar – who is barely more than a child – gathers metal scraps for his father who then resells them. He spends his life in illegal landfills where the scrap is sedimented. At the opposite extreme, but right near him, is Stanley, a young Nigerian refugee. He cleans the village church in exchange for hospitality and some food. There is little apparent similarity between Oscar and Stanley, except their feeling that they are alone in the world, that they suffer the same rejection, the same suffocating power of the choices made by others. In the middle is cinema which, seemingly effortlessly, captures the specific weight of reality with surprising integrity and invisible grace. In collaboration with Alice nella città.

Tickets (at a cost of 5 euro) may be purchased at the MAXXI ticket office or online at www.maxxi.archeoares.it. Ten free non-transferable tickets are available to holders of the myMAXXI card and myMAXXI/biblio, by writing to mymaxxi@fondazionemaxxi.it within the day before the event.
