MALEDETTA PRIMAVERA by Elisa Amoruso

Nina is a pre-teen who lives in family that isn’t out of a picture book. Her father is an eccentric who constantly fights with her mother, and her brother has problems of his own. Forced to move to an outlying neighborhood of Rome with the family, Nina meets a girl of color, a little older than she is, at her new school. Sirley dances the Lambada, pays a lot of attention to her and makes Nina feel special – none of which Nina gets at home. It’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
