Ramona e Giulietta

“Ramona e Giulietta” is a tragicomic reinterpretation of one of Shakespeare’s great classics. An all-female cast for a play written and produce inside the women’s prison Casa Circondariale Femminile di Roma Rebibbia. Wednesday May 18^th, the play will leave the walls of the prison for a major Roman premiere performance, at the Spazio Rossellini.

Written and directed by the director Francesca Tricarico with the actress-inmates of the women’s prison of Rebibbia who participated in the project “Le Donne del Muro Alto”, Ramona e Giulietta is performed by the same actresses, who continue to take it to the stage as free or semi-free women, who have been granted alternative measures to detainment.

The play will be preceded, at 7 pm, by a presentation of the project “Le Donne del Muro Alto”. The story of the journey from prison to freedom by means of the theatre will feature the speakers Marco Patarnello, a supervisory magistrate, Daniela De Robert, for the national authority for the rights of inmates and persons deprived of their personal freedom, Stefano Anastasia, the regional authority for Lazio, Gabriella Stramaccioni, the city authority for Rome, Laura Delli Colli, for the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, Francesca Tricarico, director of the company, Elena Zizioli, for the Department of Educational Sciences of RomaTre, Alessia Giuliani for the Casa Circondariale Femminile di Roma Rebibbia.
