Il Colibrì by Francesca Archibugi will be the opening film of the seventeenth Rome Film Fest which will take place from the 13 to 23 October 2022 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
Francesca Archibugi draws her latest film from the eponymous novel by Sandro Veronesi. On the screen unfurls the life of Marco Carrera, “the Hummingbird”, whose existence is marked by fatal coincidences, losses and absolute loves. The story proceeds on the power of his memories, from one era to another, in a liquid time that runs from the 1970s to the near future. Il Colibrì is the story of the ancestral power of life, of the strenuous struggle to resist what sometimes appears unbearable, thanks to the powerful weapons of illusion, happiness and joy.
The film boasts an extraordinary cast that includes Pierfrancesco Favino, Kasia Smutniak, Bérénice Bejo, Laura Morante, Sergio Albelli, Benedetta Porcaroli, Massimo Ceccherini, Alessandro Tedeschi, Fotiní Peluso, Francesco Centorame, Pietro Ragusa, Valeria Cavalli and with Nanni Moretti.
The closing credits of the film, with a soundtrack composed by Battista Lena, feature an original song by Sergio Endrigo and Riccardo Sinigallia titled “Caro amore lontanissimo”, which Claudia Endrigo, daughter of the great singer-songwriter, chose to entrust to the voice of Marco Mengoni.
