On the closing night of the Arena at Santa Maria della Pietà, scheduled for today, Friday July 26th, Fondazione Cinema per Roma takes stock of its summer activities to register a total of over 60 thousand spectators across the two months of screenings.

Since June 10th, the Fondazione has organised 113 events with free admission that involved the entire Capital city: Casa del Cinema, with its great arena in the heart of Villa Borghese, the Parco degli Acquedotti, with the third edition of Roma Cinema Arena; Tor Bella Monaca, Corviale and Santa Maria della Pietà, with three outdoor movie theatres, which for the second year in a row have brought cinema to the city’s suburbs; the MAXXI, inside its Auditorium.

Crowds of film buffs thronged to the Fondazione’s arenas: in many cases, the screenings were sold out, with audiences enthusiastically occupying the spaces around the seats.

The most acclaimed events included the encounters with the protagonists of cinema: 31 directors, actors, authors and artists introduced the screenings in the lineup. They included Roberto Andò, Marco Bellocchio, Galatea Bellugi, Francesco Bruni, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Caterina d’Amico, Flavie Delangle, Jean-Baptiste Durand, Marco Tullio Giordana, Mia Hansen-Løve, Gabriele Mainetti, Marco Manetti, Pietro Marcello, Vinicio Marchioni, Flavia Mastrella, Gabriel Montesi, Giampaolo Morelli, Carolina Pavone, Lillo Petrolo, Benedetta Porcaroli, Alessandro Preziosi, Chiara Rapaccini, Antonio Rezza, Matteo Rovere, Riccardo Scamarcio, Filippo Scicchitano, Jasmine Trinca, Sylvie Verheyde, Giovanni Veronesi, Alice Winocour and Luca Zingaretti.
