VALERIO ZURLINI RETROSPECTIVE
The retrospective devoted to Valerio Zurlini this year runs along the same lines, critically speaking, as last year’s tribute to Antonio Pietrangeli: once again, a magnificent Italian filmmaker, and once again, one sorely underestimated while he was alive and virtually forgotten after his death. Zurlini’s films reveal not only an unmistakeable personality and directing style, but also a manifesto of an invaluable vision of cinema. The retrospective is presented in collaboration with the Cineteca Nazionale (National Film Archive) and curated by Domenico Monetti and Mario Sesti. The screenings will take place at the Trevi Movie Theatre.
