The Rome Film Fest is officially recognized as a Competitive Festival by the FIAPF (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films).

Below are all the acknowledgments awarded today, Saturday October 26th, during the awards ceremony held at 5 pm in Sala Petrassi of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone.

PROGRESSIVE CINEMA COMPETITION

A jury chaired by the director, screenwriter and producer Pablo Trapero, assisted by the film editor Francesca Calvelli, French actress Laetitia Casta, producer Gail Egan and the author and screenwriter Dennis Lehane have awarded the following prizes to the films in the Progressive Cinema Competition:

Best Film:

Jury Grand Prix:
LA NUIT SE TRAÎNE by Michiel Blanchart

Best Director:
MORRISA MALTZ for Jazzy

Best Screenplay:
CHRISTOPHER ANDREWS for Bring Them Down

Best Actress – “Monica Vitti” Prize:
ÁNGELA MOLINA for Polvo serán

Best Actor – “Vittorio Gassman” Prize:
ELIO GERMANO for La grande ambizione

Special Jury Prize:
to the cast of women in READING LOLITA IN TEHRAN

BEST FIRST FEATURE AWARD

A jury chaired by the director and screenwriter Francesca Comencini assisted by the producer, composer and writer Kaili Peng and actor Antoine Reinartz has awarded – among the films from the Progressive Cinema Competition, Freestyle and Grand Public sections – the Best First Feature award to the films:

 

BOUND IN HEAVEN by Huo Xin (Progressive Cinema section) – ex aequo

CIAO BAMBINO by Edgardo Pistone (Freestyle section) – ex aequo

 

A Special Mention was furthermore awarded to actor Liu Hsiu-Fu for Pierce by Nelicia Low.

 

AUDIENCE AWARD FS

Among the films from the Progressive Cinema Competition, the audiences have awarded the Audience Award FS, Official Sponsor of the Fest, to the film:

The audiences of the official screening and of the first repeat screening of a film cast their vote using the official APP of the Fest titled “Rome Film Fest”, through the website www.romacinemafest.it and through the link specified on the ticket.

The Rome Film Fest is produced by Fondazione Cinema per Roma. The festival is promoted by Roma Capitale, Regione Lazio, Cinecittà (representing the Ministry of Culture), Camera di Commercio Industria Artigianato e Agricoltura of Rome and Fondazione Musica per Roma.

Salvatore Nastasi is the President of Fondazione Cinema per Roma and of the Board of Directors composed of Manuela Maccaroni, Chiara Sbarigia, Valerio Toniolo and Raffaele Ranucci. Francesca Via is the General Manager of the Fondazione. Paola Malanga is the Artistic Director of the Rome Film Fest and of Fondazione Cinema per Roma, assisted by a selection committee composed of Giovanna Fulvi, Enrico Magrelli, Emanuela Martini and Alberto Pezzotta.
