Lino Guanciale will be the host of the opening ceremony for the 19th annual Rome Film Fest. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 7 pm, in the Sala Sinopoli at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, before the screening of the opening film, The Great Ambition by Andrea Segre.

A familiar face on the Italian screen – in films and on television – and on stage, Lino Guanciale made his film debut in 2008, playing Mozart in I, Don Giovanni by Carlos Saura, and went on to work with directors of the caliber of Woody Allen, Michele Placido, Andrea Molaioli, Susanna Nicchiarelli, Pappi Corsicato, and Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. On the small screen, Guanciale starred in several hit series, such as Che Dio ci aiuti 2 e 3, La dama velata, Non dirlo al mio capo, La porta rossa, and L’allieva. For his role in Inspector Ricciardi, the series based on the novels by Maurizio De Giovanni, he received the Silver Ribbon in 2021. His most recent credits for television roles include the series Noi, Sopravvissuti, Un’estate fa, and the upcoming The Count of Monte Cristo, which will premiere at the Film Fest. As a stage actor, Guanciale worked early on with Gigi Proietti, Claudio Longhi, and Franco Branciaroli. He has since worked with other leading Italian film directors, such as Luca Ronconi, Walter Le Moli, Massimo Popolizio, and Michele Placido. In 2015, he received the Flaiano Actor Prize for Revelation of the Italian Stage.
