Fondazione Cinema per Roma presents the Cassa del Cinema programme for the month of January.

The schedule will be inaugurated on January 9th with the series “Il cinema in una stanza “ (Cinema in a room): twelve films are on the roster, by authors such as Luchino Visconti, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Bernardo Bertolucci, David Fincher – in which the space of the film, often limited to a single room, becomes the star of the story, at times an intimate and friendly space, at others anguishing and claustrophobic, but always capable of influencing the psyche and behaviour of the main characters.

Saturday January 11th will feature the first in the screenings of the “Film of the Month”, Jazzy by Morrisa Maltz, which won the Best Director Award at the last Rome Film Fest.

On the same day, ten years after her death, Casa del Cinema will pay tribute to Anita Ekberg with a screening of The Girl in the Fountain, a documentary by Antongiulio Panizzi which reviews the career of the famous Swedish actress, portrayed in some scenes by Monica Bellucci.

The Special Event of the Month will be the screening of a masterpiece by Ingmar Bergman, Fanny and Alexander, probably the synthesis of the imagination and inspiration of one of the greatest directors of all time.

The programme in January also features a new event in collaboration with Galleria Borghese – the screening of Medea by Pier Paolo Pasolini, while the film selected to honour the International Holocaust Remembrance Day will be The Garden of the Finzi-Continis by Vittorio De Sica.
