Romaeuropa Festival, in collaboration with Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Fondazione Cinema per Roma, will present, on 22nd September 2025 in the Sala Santa Cecilia of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, a special event dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the release of a cult film of contemporary cinematography: Whiplash by Damien Chazelle.

To pay homage to this film, Whiplash cine-concert live offers a special screening of the film in which Justin Hurwitz’s soundtrack will come to life thanks to the live performance of the Multiquarium Big Band, directed by Benoît Sourisse, and André Charlier, who will try his hand at the difficult challenge of performing the drum evolutions with the same exasperated precision that characterises the film’s protagonist.

Cinematic and musical experience come together in a live performance that enhances the power of jazz music, the tight rhythm of the narration and the visceral impact of the film’s most iconic scenes.
